What would the Founders Do?

I’ve often seen comments about these trying times we live in and how far our governmental “leadership” has led us astray from the intent of the Founders and the Constitution. This country largely started due to an act of civil disobedience over a 3% tariff on tea. The British put a 3% tariff on every pound of tea sold, and a group of citizens stood up and dumped 94,000 pounds of tea into Griffin’s Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts.

When one sits back and considers how far the government has expanded well beyond the scope of the Constitution, and how many rights have been trampled on, you would think we are due for a 2nd Boston Tea Party. Now, I’m not suggesting such a thing. I am merely considering why there hasn’t been any revolt among citizens or mass protests against the numerous unconstitutional government actions.

Why would a homesteading and preparedness Substack write about such a thing? Guess I’m sitting here thinking about how much I pay in taxes, how to do almost anything there is a permit, a tax, a fee, or some regulation that has to be adhered to. Here in Maine, I know of multiple businesses that have been shut down or slowed down due to the government coming after them for one reason or another. Oh - and the reasons are related to either money or over-regulation.

Well, that’s pretty much it. I’ll get off my high horse and go to work so I can pay the Federal government taxes that they will send overseas.
